Micro-needling is performed by a high-tech device that uses an array of fine needles to pierce the skin to a controlled depth just below the outer layer. This stimulates the skin to produce collagen and elastin which help improving fine wrinkles and pores and reducing the appearance of scars and stretch marks.

What Skin Conditions May Be Improved by Skin Needling?

Before starting the Micro needling procedure, a topical anesthetic cream is applied on the treated area for 30 minutes to minimize any discomfort. Then, the skin is cleansed with antibacterial solution for complete sterility. The procedure can take anything from 10 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the area we are treating.

Micro needling procedure is well tolerated by most. It is safe to resume normal activities after the procedure, but your skin will appear pink or red and you may have areas of bruising.You may also notice scabbing in the first couple of days, which you can cover with makeup.
Several treatment sessions are needed to reach optimal results. We normally recommend an interval of 4 to 6 weeks between treatments. Most patients see results within 6 weeks of the first treatment.

The full effect will continue to develop over the course of the following 3 months as the body takes time to generate new collagen. But the results can last for years, depending on factors such as persistent, continued sun damage, smoking and your overall health and lifestyle.
