Non-Surgical Facelift

Youngish face of a mature woman after non-surgical facelift treatment

WHY NON-SURGICAL FACELIFT?

Aging is a natural process that everyone experiences. The face shows the clearest and most telling signs of aging. Each wrinkle adds another year to your face definition. The skin becomes wrinkly and loose, from crow’s feet to frown lines to deep creases, to deflated cheeks and lips, jowls and loss of jawline definition due to loss of facial fat and bone resorption

A nonsurgical facelift is a combination of minimally invasive and nonsurgical procedures, designed to rejuvenate and refresh facial appearance. Compared with a surgical facelift, these techniques do not require large incisions, general anesthesia or overnight hospitalization

Surgical facelift is more impressive, but being invasive, it has certain risks and higher complication rates.

A non-surgical facelift can be a perfect choice for those looking to reverse the aging process but are not yet ready for a full surgical facelift. Each nonsurgical facelift is custom-tailored to meet the individual’s unique needs.

WHAT NON-SURGICAL FACELIFTS CANNOT DO:

A non-surgical facelift does not eliminate or reduce significant signs of aging including: heavy eyelids, eye bags, significant skin sagging, jowls, and excessively loose skin of face and neck.

Non-invasive techniques come in various types, so it is crucial to tailor treatments to meet each patient’s unique needs, addressing issues such as fine lines, deep creases, thinning lips, facial volume loss, and other types.

WHAT NON-SURGICAL FACELIFT TREATMENTS WORK BEST FOR SKIN TIGHTENING? ARE THERE RISKS?

Technique: Heat Generating Devices

  • High-intensity Focused Ultrasound: A HIFU facial uses ultrasound to create heat at a deep level in the skin. This heat damages targeted skin cells, causing the body to try to repair them. To do this, the body produces collagen to aid in cell regrowth. Collagen is a substance in the skin that gives it structure and elasticity.
  • Radiofrequency: Delivers skin-changing radio frequency (RF) energy through tiny micro needles that insert into the skin.
  • Ultherapy is a non-surgical treatment that uses ultrasound technology to rejuvenate, lift and tighten your neck and face.

Benefits: tighten the skin on the neck, reduce the appearance of jowls, lift drooping eyelids or eyebrows, smooth wrinkles on the face, smooth and tighten chest skin

Downtime: Few days redness and swelling of face

Risks: aggressive treatment might cause burns and scarring

WHAT NON-SURGICAL FACELIFT TREATMENTS WORK BEST FOR SKIN RESURFACING (E.G. CHEMICAL PEELS, MICRONEEDLING)? ARE THERE RISKS?

Technique: Accelerated Exfoliation of Superficial Layers of Skin

  • Microneedling
  • Skin Boosting
  • Baby Botox®
  • Red Carpet Skin Peel
  • Nanofat

Benefits: Skin rejuvenation and collagen stimulation. Best for treating sun damaged skin, pigments, scars, fine static wrinkles

Downtime: Few days of peeling and redness of skin

Risks: Aggressive treatment might cause pigmentation and scarring

Technique: Heat generating Lasers to stimulate collagen making

Non-ablative Laser and Intense pulse light treat the superficial layers of skin.

Benefits: Skin rejuvenation and collagen stimulation. Best for treating sun damaged skin pigments, spider veins, large pores, acne scars, fine static wrinkles.

Downtime: Few days of redness of skin, superficial skin scabs

Risks: Aggressive treatment might cause burns, scarring and pigmentation.

Ablative CO2 Lasers treat deeper layers of skin

Benefits: Skin rejuvenation and collagen stimulation. Best for treating severely sun damaged skin, deep wrinkles with loose skin, deep surgical or acne scarring.

Downtime: Few weeks of significant facial swelling, skin oozing, scabs, dryness, skin redness of skin and peeling. The first week your face will look like a burned victim which forces you to be home-bound.

Risks: High risks of scarring, infection and skin discoloration

WHAT NON-SURGICAL FACELIFT TREATMENTS WORK BEST FOR WRINKLE AND FROWN LINE REDUCTION (E.G. BOTOX®, DERMAL FILLERS, ETC)? ARE THERE RISKS?

BOTOX®

Benefits: Botox® is yet another critical component of the non-surgical facelift and is unmatched when it comes to smoothing expressive wrinkles, forehead creases, frown lines, and ‘crow’s feet’. The procedure relaxes the targeted muscles temporarily, ‘ironing out’ facial lines that are usually the result of repetitive expressions such as smiling or laughing. Results can last up to three months. Botox® does not improve deep static or fixed wrinkles.

Downtime: No downtime

Risks: Bruising, swelling and rarely droopy eye and headaches

DERMAL FILLERS

Benefits: They are smooth gel injectables and can restore ‘lost volume’ along the cheeks, temples, lips, and under the eyes immediately after insertion.
What dermal fillers do is create youthful vibrancy by ‘plumping up’ sunken areas and eliminating dark shadows. They can also create a smooth, wrinkle-free look when placed along the nasolabial folds (commonly known as ‘smile lines’ or ‘laugh lines’) or marionette lines (common wrinkles that appear around the mouth and chin with age).

Dermal fillers contain moisture-rich hyaluronic acid, among other ingredients. They hydrate the skin by holding water and acts as a cushion and lubricant to reduce damage to it. The plumping and smoothing properties of fillers can last up to one year.

Downtime: 1-2 days of localized swelling

Risks: Bruising, swelling, asymmetry and wrong placement. Serious rare complications due to accidental injection of the gel into the blood vessels may cause deadening of skin, and rarely stroke or blindness.

FAT INJECTIONS

Benefits: Fat injections are minimally invasive procedures, using fatty tissue extracted through liposuction on a different area of the body. These fat cells are cleaned and processed, then reinjected into the face to enhance facial volume. The living fat cells will integrate with the existing tissues, offering youthful contours that will last for years to come.

Downtime: 1-2 days of localized swelling

Risks: Bruising, swelling, asymmetry and wrong placement

LIQUID FACELIFT

This is a very effective anti-aging treatment with filler, typically complemented with a wrinkle relaxer. Each client’s unique facial structure and genetic aging process is evaluated. Filler is placed in a strategic way to replace lost facial volume and reposition and lift displaced fat pads and skin, if possible, depending on each individual case. The overall result is a more rested, younger version of yourself and not a “done” look.

Downtime: 1-2 days of localized swelling

Risks: Bruising, swelling, asymmetry and wrong placement
