A gracefully aging face is a beautiful thing, but some changes occur with age that we would like to slow down. Age affects every nook and cranny of the body. Even if you have great genes and look much younger than you are, age-related changes in your facial appearance are unavoidable.

Structural rearrangements are going on behind the scenes. When we’re young, fat in the face is evenly distributed, with some pockets here and there that plump up the forehead, temples, cheeks, and areas around the eyes and mouth. With age, that fat loses volume, clumps up, and shifts downward, so features that were formerly round may sink, and skin that was smooth and tight gets loose and sags. Meanwhile other parts of the face gain fat, particularly the lower half, so we tend to get baggy around the chin and jowly in the neck. And, of course, there are the wrinkles. Those deep ones in the forehead and between the eyebrows are called expression, or animation, lines. They’re the result of facial muscles continually tugging on, and eventually creasing, the skin. Other folds may get deeper because of the way fat decreases and moves around. Finer wrinkles are due to sun damage, smoking, and natural degeneration of elements of the skin that keep it thick and supple.

WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT MY AGING FACE?

SURGICAL FACELIFT

Facelifts have improved, so the results tend to look more natural. But the surgery is expensive, requires healing time, and might leave unsightly scars. Although facelift surgery is one of the more popular cosmetic procedures; there are plenty of alternative rejuvenating procedures that are nonsurgical and less invasive that can ameliorate and restore you.

NON-SURGICAL FACIAL FACELIFT AND REJUVENATION

Here is just a sample of some of the things that you can do — or get done — to give your face a more youthful appearance:

NEUROTOX

Neurotox is used to treat the expression lines of the forehead, frozen lines, and crow’s feet. Neurotox temporarily relaxes the expressive facial muscles which help to efface or to reduce facial expressive lines. At Beverly Hills Aesthetics, Dr. Assassa is well known for being one of the top nonsurgical specialists in Beverly Hills to perform Neurotox Eyebrow Lift, and Neurotox Lower Face Lift.

DERMA FILLERS

Dermal fillers are gel-like substances such as Juvederm™ Restylane™ and Belotero™ which are injected beneath the skin to restore lost volume, smooth lines and soften creases, or enhance facial contours. Beverly Hills Aesthetics offers a range of nonsurgical procedures with dermal fillers such as the forehead and temporal contouring, Cheeks bones enhancement, nonsurgical browlift, nonsurgical cheeks lift and contouring, under eyes dark circles and hallow nonsurgical improvement, nonsurgical rhinoplasty or liquid nose job, lips enhancement and contouring, nonsurgical lower lift and chin enhancement and contouring.

NON-SURGICAL FAT TRANSFER FOR FACELIFT AND CONTOURING

As you age, your skin starts to sag due to the loss of collagen. In addition, your facial fat compartment shrinks down in volume especially in the cheeks, producing further sagging of the face. Fat Transfer. Also known as fat grafting or fat injection. At Beverly Hills, Dr. Assassa has been performing facial fat grafting for the last 15 years.
The fat grafting procedure transfers fat from areas in which you have excess fat, such as the thighs or tummy, and injects it into areas of the face that may be lacking in volume. Fat is very rich in adult stem cells (Mesenchymal Stem Cells) which regenerate the aging tissue and create a nonsurgical lifting of eyebrows and cheeks, improvement of under the eyes hallow, laugh lines, marionette lines, and contouring and enhancement of lips and chin. While results are long-lasting, they should not be considered permanent.

NANO FAT GRAFTING VS. FAT GRAFTING

Nano fat is emulsified (liquefied) and filtered form of fat. After collecting the fat cells, they are mechanically processed and filtered into miniature particles called “Nano fat”. Nano fat is liquid fat that contains a high concentration of mesenchymal stem cells “SVF”, which can be extremely beneficial in boosting your body’s regenerative functions. Nano fat can produce some of the most rejuvenating results possible with minimally invasive techniques Additionally, growth factors can also be used to regulate stem cell functions to boost cell turnover and rejuvenation.

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN NANO FAT GRAFTING AND FAT GRAFTING?

There are several differences between the two procedures. Knowing them will help you choose the best procedure to suit your needs. The differences include:

  • Size

Traditional fat grafting uses macro fat, which volumizes and lifts the areas they inject it. Nano fat grafting uses the smallest size of fat particles. These are ideal for smoothing out wrinkles, fine lines, scars, chest wrinkles “décolletage” and undereye dark circles “under eyes hallow”

  • Function

Traditional fat grafting deals with adding volume and lifting the recipient areas. Nano grafting may add volume to recipient areas. However, the main benefits lie in the stem cells and growth factors in the nano fat. The stromal vascular fraction (SVF) or mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) improve the quality of your skin and leave you glowing. They are an ideal alternative to dermal fillers.

DURATION OF NANO FAT

Nano fat grafting has better chances of success due to the size of the fat grafts. The face is also an ideal treatment area as it is rich in blood supply. Therefore, the probability of the fat grafts surviving is high. Whatever fat cells remain after a month will last forever.
