Pore Size Reduction

Any laser, IPL or chemical peel will reduce pores and make skin more refined. We use mainly Nd Yag Laser or IPL, usually in combination with Intradermal BOTOX to achieve this. Nd Yag Laser tightens skin, contours the face and builds collagen. A single treatment far exceeds IPL (or lasers of that era) can do in terms pore-closing and general skin rejuvenation.

The most direct pore-reducing tool is Intradermal BOTOX.

The Intradermal BOTOX combinations also heals PIH in acne prone skin giving it an even-colored texture, and a very re-fined, matte and "all-day powdered" look. It is the finishing touch to any good aesthetic treatment.

1. We will choose Nd Yag Laser combined with Intradermal BOTOX if there is some degree of sagging skin.
2. We will choose IPL combined with Intradermal BOTOX if there is redness like in Rosacea, redness of post-acne marks or in general sun-induced telangiectasia and pigmentation.
3. We choose Nd Yag Laser combined with Intradermal BOTOX if there are acne scars as well as in active acne associated with the open pores and oily skin.

Minimizing Acne and Post Acne Marks

Active Acne should be treated first by topical creams alone. Oral medications can be added if more severe. Only in the most severe cases and under exceptional circumstance would steroid injections be indicated. Steroid injections have is disadvantages. We only use it rarely because we have a few novel methods to deal with acne and oily skin of moderate to severe degrees. These novel methods are:

1. PhotoPeel is a "magic bullet" that kills bacteria and unhealthy cells within the crypts of acne vulgaris lesion.
2. Nd Yag Laser itself, although marketed as a treatment for acne scars, is very good at controlling acne in its early stages. It can also be used to prevent acne in acne prone individuals whose acne is not controllable by the usual creams and oral medications.

For mild acne or skin riddled with brown marks called PIH (Post-Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation), we use Intradermal BOTOX (mentioned above and used in combination with either IPL or Nd Yag Laser to decrease inflammation and inhibit a few waves of breakouts. Without any new inflammation, PIH heals and skin takes on a very refined appearance.
