The BOTOX Lift
Lifting by selectively weakening Downward pulling muscles

BOTOX within the Skin (not into muscles)
Intradermal BOTOX literally means injections are into and within the skin. Whereas in "conventional" BOTOX, the injections are slightly deeper beyond the skin into the facial muscles just beneath it.
The (Intradermal) BOTOX Lift as such is not targeted at muscles of facial expression but on the platysmus muscle at the jaw line and the fine muscles that control pore size.
Here's how The BOTOX Lift works...
- Smaller Pores means Smaller Skin Area
The effect of BOTOX injected in this manner contracts an area of the skin's pores. Smaller pores result in a smaller skin surface area hence making skin more stretched out over the face. A "face-lift" and "stretching-out of wrinkled skin" is as such achieved.
The "lifting effect" of Intradermal BOTOX is also attributed to injections over lower part of the face close to the jaw-line canceling some of the downward pull of the platysmus muscle and thus giving the cheeks and jowls a "lift".
The BOTOX Lift not only creates a tighter, firmer and lifted face, it also gives a smooth, pore-less, whole-day-powdered looking face for months...
Other Beneficial Effects
Accompanying this "facelift", BOTOX also reduces oil production; blocks sweat production as well as reverse the inflammatory process that causes acne. The effect of Intradermal-BOTOX is therefore that of a matt, poreless and powdered look anytime of the day for 3-4 months. Acne outbreaks are significantly less such that there will be less PIH (brown marks) over time.
Skin takes on a very refined texture for duration longer than that expected with BOTOX elsewhere.
Uncommon Side-effects
Smirk or side-effect?
A slightly unbalanced smile is a possible but rare side-effect with Intradermal BOTOX. The Zygomaticus major or the Levator labii superioris alaque nasi may be affected by BOTOX diffusing downward into them. They lie just beneath areas of skin where treatment is unfortunately most necessary... the T-zone open pores that many people are very unhappy with. We can treat this area, and even other areas considered "scared" in conventional BOTOX, without any side-effects.
The side-effect can be consciously avoided in expert hands.
Background to the BOTOX Lift
Beginnings
Coinciding with the popularity of Mesotherapy, similarities were noticed in BOTOX injection techniques that used small doses of BOTOX in multiple epidermal blebs. Hence the earlier name of "Meso-BOTOX". This was then claimed to have skin rejuvenation and a lifting effect that far surpassed conventional BOTOX.
Skeptics
Skeptics, us included, initially attributed this "lifting and firming" effect to the multiple punctures causing a certain degree of healing injury and hence the collagen regeneration.
"Meso-anything" is suspect
"Meso-anything" is still viewed by many to be highly suspicious of its claims. Read our opinion on "how Mesotherapy works".
The Science
Skeptics were proven wrong with Intradermal-BOTOX. There are very sound scientific bases on its mode of action. See how it works. The technique is now acknowledged by Allergan Inc.
Name Change
The name has also been changed to "The BOTOX Lift" or "Intradermal BOTOX" depending on whether it is deployed as a "non-surgical facelift" or "to treat open pores".
The Cost
The BOTOX Lift on its own costs $800 to $1,000 depending on the size of the face.
We highly recommend that The BOTOX Lift be done in synergistic combination with IPL Yag Lift. Read more on: Our Prices
(Notice the considerable discount when BOTOX is used with other Laser or IPL)
